• Side effects:
    • side effects such as problems with balance, speech, and numbness, are usually reversible, mild, and accepted by most patients. Thalamic stimulation has the advantage of being adaptable. Tremor Control Therapy has the additional advantage of "adaptability", because the stimulation can be adjusted (turned up or turned down) as needed to optimize symptom tremor relief and minimize side effects.
  • Contraindications:
    • Unsuccessful test stimulation.
  • Warnings/Precautions/Adverse Events:
    • May affect or be affected by medical equipment, e.g., magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or cardiac pacemakers. Adverse events related to the therapy, device, or procedure can include: paresthesia, headache, paresis, dysarthria, disequilibrium, jolting or shocking stimulation, loss of effect, intracranial hemorrhage.
