Fees, Insurance & Payment Policies

We are aware and concerned over the increasing cost of medical care. We are dedicated to providing the best health care treatment in a cost efficient manner. You should be aware that your neurological consultation or office visit fee includes much more than the patient interview, examination, diagnostic differential and treatment recommedations. Phone consultations, patient questions by phone, education, reviewing and filing of insurance forms, sending written reports to your primary care physician, as well as other medical care services including review of diagnostic testing, laboratory reports and medical records are also some of the services provided and included in the cost of office care.

We participate in many insurance plans. Please see the list of participating insurance plans. Health insurance is an agreement that you may have with your insurance carrier to pay certain amounts of your medical care. Unless you are covered by one of the PPO/HMO organizations in which we participate, you are responsible for payment in full of your account regardless of what your insurance company pays. Please realize that many insurance companies set their reimbursement levels below doctors' customary charges. Many insurance plans appear much simpler than they actually are. Plans requiring second opinions or precertification prior to hospital admission are common. You should review your coverage prior to visiting our office and prior to all diagnostic testing. We will be happy to assist in arranging a second opinion or in obtaining precertification for you. It is your responsibility to notify us of your policy's requirements. We ask that you pay for all office visits at the time services are rendered. For your convenience, we also accept American Express Visa, Master Charge, and Discover.

If your account becomes past due and there is not a valid reason for your payment delay, appropriate action will be taken to recover the amount due. We do use a collection agency for delinquent accounts. If our bill creates a financial hardship for you, please call the office and a special arrangement may be made.

We cannot accept responsibility for collecting insurance payments or for negotiating settlement of a disputed claim. However, we will bill your insurance company for any consultation, office procedure, or diagnostic testing or treatment performed by our physicians provided you have furnished us with the appropriate information. Please contact our insurance department directly for assistance if you have any questions regarding your insurance billing.
